The Devil in the White City
At the height of his criminal career, the infamous Dr. Henry Howard Holmes designed his castle of horrors in Chicago, where he rented rooms to unsuspecting victims visiting the 1893 World's Fair. Further benefiting from his victims, Holmes sold their skeletons to local medical schools.
Yet little is known about the mysterious figure that Dr. Homes allegedly 'worked' for. Shown here, is the only known photograph of the person some would claim was: the true devil of the white city.
